Cigogne was born from
a migrating spirit...
1992 :
Isabelle and Christophe Gillet had already spent a decade travelling the length
and breadth of the Sahara, it was during this year that they presented their
final display on the theme of the desert at the Grande Arche de la Défense
in Paris. In order to respect the character of the building, Christophe
Gillet created a free-standing display stand that was to pave the way for his
subsequent designs and applications.
Together, Isabelle and Christophe founded their own company - Société Entropies
- and created the first ever tensioned display system. Cigogne systems were
subsequently installed at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Cartier
Foundation, at Airbus, the Opéra Garnier and the Panthéon ….
1995 : The Company was presented with the prestigious
French museum innovation award.
2007 : To date, more than 30 000 Cigogne products
have been sold worldwide. Often imitated, sometimes reproduced in every
detail, the Cigogne concept was a remarkable discovery, born out of intuition
and a heart-felt shared passion. |
